Getting through the festive season Mahi style

Nothing quite compares to the way we celebrate the festive period in the UK. The extravagant food, drinks, office parties (in-person and virtual!), gifts and more.

If there’s one thing we know how to do well, it’s spending December with a drink in one hand, pig-in-blanket in the other, waving goodbye to another year of hard work.

Yet, with so many festivities and reasons to say “oh go on then, one more won’t hurt”, it’s easy to get burnt out and feel less than our best. It’s no secret that we enjoy a few team drinks at Mahi, but we’re also a sensitive bunch who like to stay feeling our best, whatever it may take. So without further adieu, here are some of our favourite (occasionally extravagant) tricks to stay feeling fresh throughout the season so you don’t have to resort to crawling under your desk for a hangover nap when you’ve got to work the following day.

Life Bio patches

Our fearless leader, Susan, kindly volunteered to test the Life Bio After Party Patch out when she spotted them in Ibiza. After enduring a particularly bad hangover a while later and having to deal with three kids instead of face-planting the couch all day, she recalled seeing them.  A quick Google search and a few clicks later, her patches were en route and the rest is history - now we’re all hooked! Pop a patch on before you go to bed after a night out and you’ll wake up fresh as a daisy.

Royal Flush Drip

It’s pricey and extreme, but it’s necessary if you find yourself a little more worse for wear than anticipated. The Reviv IV drip is administered by a nurse and contains all the fluids and vitamins required to help you recuperate quick as a flash and get back to your daily duties.

B12 shots

One of our slightly less extreme (but let’s be honest, still fairly boujee) preferences for tackling the aftermath of the Christmas drinks is B12 shots. B vitamins are essential for the energy and health required for essential everyday functioning, and these shots are a lifesaver for quickly returning you to your best self after a big night.

Alternatively, you can take vitamin B12 as part of a ‘pre-tox’ ritual, staying one step ahead of your hangover. Taking this supplement before and after drinking alcohol helps replenish vitamin levels, giving your body the chance to recover quickly.

Milk thistle

Finally, a firm favourite a few members of our team rave about is taking milk thistle to relieve the effects of having one cocktail too many. Traditionally believed to support the liver, milk thistle is a natural herb that has often been called upon after a big night. Although there is little science to support this supplement, our team are quite adamant that this *is* the ultimate hangover cure.
